Job Description
- Support the design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of secure engineering systems and server validation platforms in a DoD environment
- Provide technical support across COMSEC and Air Force Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) environments, including participation in Tier 3 help desk activities to troubleshoot and resolve complex system and user issues
- Operate within a hybrid engineering and operational support role, assisting with KMI systems, SKL (Simple Key Loader), iApp, and related secure communications tools
- Research, analyze, and contribute to network design and system architecture, with a focus on secure and compliant implementations
- Conduct engineering tests, validation, and troubleshooting across server platforms, ensuring systems meet required performance and security standards
- Execute experimental testing and data collection efforts to support broader engineering research and development initiatives
- Analyze test results, document findings, and upload outputs to appropriate repositories for review and tracking
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting validation environments, KMI systems, or COMSEC operations
- Communicate technical findings, system status, and blockers clearly to cross-functional engineering and operational teams
- Build, configure, and maintain server validation environments and supporting infrastructure
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as associated applications
- Utilize industry-standard test and measurement equipment to support debugging, diagnostics, and data collection
- Install and configure infrastructure components including network KVMs and power distribution units
- Support cross-functional engineering teams while also serving as a technical escalation point within the KMI/COMSEC support environment
- Contribute to activities spanning research, development, testing, evaluation, troubleshooting, and operational support of engineering systems and secure communication technologies

Required Skills & Experience
- Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance
- Security+ certification
- KMI training/school
- 5+ years of experience in an Engineering Technician or similar technical role
- Experience working with COMSEC equipment and secure communications systems
- Experience supporting KMI environments, Tier 3 help desk, SKL, or related systems
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues in Windows and/or Linux environments
- Knowledge of general validation, testing, and automation principles
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
