Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist conducts applicant interviews and background investigations to support the screening and selection process. This role involves recruiting, testing, and making hiring decisions for most hourly positions.

Essential Functions:

-Screen and rank applicants.
-Schedule and conduct pre-employment interviews.
-Perform detailed background investigations and prepare reports.
-Maintain contact with information sources for accurate data.
-Extract and interpret data from various agencies.
-Assist in applicant testing and authorize physicals.
-Conduct internal records checks.
-Collaborate with hiring managers during the offer process.
-Represent VIA at job fairs and recruiting events.
-Stay updated on job vacancies and qualifications.
-Make hiring decisions for hourly positions.
-Handle sensitive calls from applicants.

Required Skills & Experience

-High School Diploma or the equivalent, plus 2 years of college or training equal to 2 years of college, and at least 2 years experience in Human Resource functions, the interviewing process, performing investigations or research, etc., or an acceptable combination.
-Must be able to analyze information, exercise judgment and make recommendations.
-Requires preparing detailed reports.
-Must be able to comprehend and follow EEOC regulations, ADA, and the Fair Credit
-Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office in processing internal and external electronic records.
-Must read and understand semi-complex materials such as reports, reference manuals and instructions.
-Must observe and provide input regarding applicant behavior.
