Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Elixir Engineer in the San Antonio or REMOTE area. This person will embody the future of software development for our client. They will have mastered the art of AI-assisted coding and can deliver exceptional results at lightning speed. This role is perfect for a developer who has evolved beyond traditional hand-coding and leverages AI tools to achieve 95-100% code generation efficiency. They will be part of an innovative R&D team where cutting-edge technology meets rapid development cycles. We're building the next generation of API services over legacy infrastructure, leveraging the power of AI-assisted development to achieve unprecedented velocity and quality. They will design and implement robust API layers over existing legacy services using Elixir/OTP. Rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions in a fast-paced experimental environment. Leverage AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.) for maximum development velocity. Create and maintain LiveView interfaces for internal tools and dashboards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand legacy system integration requirements. Drive architectural decisions for scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. Mentor team members on AI-assisted development best practices.

- Minimum 2+ years of professional Elixir/OTP experience in production environments
- Proficiency with Phoenix Framework and understanding of its ecosystem and experience with Phoenix LiveView** for real-time, interactive web applications
- Tailwind CSS experience for efficient styling and responsive design
- Strong understanding of OTP principles, GenServers, Supervisors, and fault tolerance
- Experience with API design, RESTful services, and potentially GraphQL
- Database experience (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Extensive experience with AI coding assistants (Claude, Cursor, Cline, etc.)
- Advanced prompt engineering skills - ability to craft precise, context-aware prompts that generate production-ready code
- Currently shipping 95-100% AI-generated code in professional projects
- Mastery of iterative prompt refinement and debugging AI-generated solutions
- Experience with AI-driven testing, documentation, and code review processes
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Background in legacy system modernization projects
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Previous experience in rapid prototyping environments
