Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Secret cleared Computer Systems Engineer to join the team sitting fully remote in support of a Federal client. The engineer will be responsible for the following:



* Provide Software, System, Systems, and Cloud Architecture expertise and support. This work shall leverage the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) to design enterprise ­level systems effectively and efficiently.

* Monitor and interpret MHS, DoD, and higher­ level engineering/information architecture policies, including systems acquisition, architecture, and interoperability, and information assurance, to determine applicability to the operating environment.

* Work with a multidisciplinary team to translate project-specific needs into an approved architecture that will suit those needs, giving due consideration to resource usage and scalability.

* Carry out deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and management tasks within assigned platforms including documentation development for implementations.

* Participate in platform security reviews, improvements, and audits.

* Develop project plans for the integration of new and migrating applications into the target environment.

* Assist in scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.

* Educate teams on the implementation of new architecture initiatives, providing associated training as directed.

* Develop and maintain a library of deployable reference architectures approved for use by supported customers (internal and external).

* Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.

* Maintain overall industry knowledge for assigned platform(s).

* Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements.

* Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including documentation and root cause, remediation, and prevention strategies.

* Lead architectural discussions with customers and technical teams to understand customer research, business, and technical requirements in order to develop and tailor internal and cloud reference architectures and patterns to maximize business value and ensure compliance.

* Lead architectural discussions with technical teams to develop transition architectures, roadmaps and design patterns to ensure each solution is successful.

* Ensure all systems and environments comply with DoD/NIST RMF standards for Federal Information Systems

* Produce well written, technically detailed documents that are tailored specifically to the customer's environment, objectives and requirements.

* Provide hands on implementation of proofs of concepts and pilot architectures to serve as references for large scale implementations.

* Institute best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches for IT managed services and IT modernization capabilities including service catalog, service/help desk, network services, end-user services, compute/hosting services, and other modern technologies.

* Document and prepare RMF and ATO packages for final review and approval for by a federal designee.

* Meld commercial products with custom developed solutions to meet functional requirements while working within the constraints of customer IT and cyber infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

* 6+ years of relevant work experience

* Bachelor's Degree in related field

* Proficiency in providing production ready IT solutions using services from leading cloud service providers.

* Strong understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps practices.

* Must Have Executive Speaking and Presentation Skills -- including White board, small and large group presentations.

* Must possess and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance or have the ability to obtain one .

* Experience using cybersecurity tools to assess proposed software, applications and/or hardware

* CISSP is preferred
