An outpatient oncology organization in San Antonio is looking for a Radiation Authorization Coordinator to join their team based out of their central business office. You will review medical documentation for each patients chemotherapy treatment plans and communicate with nursing / medical staff on any restrictions or special requirements in relation to insurance plans. Work directly with physicians on documentation issues and payer issues. You will update coding / payer guidelines for clinical staff to obtain insurance authorizations and pre certification for chemotherapy services. You will function as a liaison between patient and payer to answer reimbursement questions and work to avoid insurance delays.
