Job Description

Insight Global is partnering with a dialysis organization focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). We are seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive excellence in patient outcomes. This role will serve as the clinical and operational leader for the dialysis center, overseeing medical staff, treatment protocols, and quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
• Provide clinical oversight for all dialysis services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
• Lead, mentor, and manage nephrologists, dialysis nurses, technicians, and clinical support staff.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve evidence-based clinical protocols for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
• Oversee patient assessments, individualized care planning, and treatment delivery.

Quality, Risk & Compliance
• Monitor and improve quality metrics including infection rates, patient outcomes, and clinical performance indicators.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and standards (CMS, OSHA, HIPAA, ESRD guidelines).
• Prepare for and lead regulatory inspections, audits, and accreditation processes (e.g., Joint

Commission, ESRD Networks).
• Establish proactive risk management and emergency preparedness plans.

Patient Care & Experience
• Champion a patient-centered care model that emphasizes education, engagement, and long-term health outcomes.
• Implement patient education programs focused on treatment adherence, lifestyle management, and self-care.
• Promote a compassionate, supportive environment for patients, families, and caregivers.

Staffing & Development
• Partner with leadership to define staffing models, ratios, and scheduling aligned to patient volume and acuity.
• Drive ongoing staff training, professional development, and certification in renal care best practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.

Technology, Equipment & Data
• Oversee selection, maintenance, and optimization of dialysis equipment and water purification systems.
• Ensure effective use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and clinical data analytics to improve performance and outcomes.
• Support integration of telemedicine and digital tools when appropriate.

Financial & Strategic Oversight
• Collaborate with administrative and operations teams on budgeting, cost management, and reimbursement optimization.
• Support efficient billing practices and alignment with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements.
• Contribute to short- and long-term strategic planning, growth initiatives, and service expansion.

Required Skills & Experience

• MD or DO with board certification in Nephrology.
• Active, unrestricted medical license (state-specific or eligible for licensure).
• Proven leadership experience within a dialysis center or renal care environment.
• Strong working knowledge of CMS, ESRD regulations, and healthcare compliance standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Prior experience as a Medical Director or Clinical Director in dialysis or renal services.
• Experience with accreditation processes and quality improvement programs.
• Strong operational, financial, and strategic decision-making skills.
