Job Description

We are seeking a degreed Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years of experience on USACE or other DoD large vertical projects. The candidate will need to have heavy HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Commissioning and Testing Experience. He/She will need to be able to review design documents and respond to RFI's as well as provide submittal review. 

This individual will support remodels and new construction at a military installation in order to improve living conditions.

Responsibilities:

Design & Construction Review: Evaluate major design, renovation, and alteration projects.

Documentation & Compliance: Review RFIs, submittals, BCOES, and perform plan-in-hand reviews.

Mechanical Systems Oversight: Inspect and test HVAC, piping, plumbing, and building control systems.

Commissioning: Monitor and document commissioning of building systems.

Reporting & Contracting: Prepare correspondence, reports, and A-E contract criteria.

Change Orders & Claims: Review complex change orders and claims for justification and documentation.

Meeting Participation: Attend mechanical and plumbing meetings, contribute to RFP/design discussions including LEED compliance.

Warranty Support: Participate in warranty inspections and ensure contractual warranty maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience

- Engineering degree with 7 years of experience or 10 years of managing construction projects with successful execution.
- Proficiency in construction management and contract administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience supporting US Army Corps of Engineers project work.
