Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Linux Administrator to oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our server infrastructure. This role will be responsible for managing Linux (RHEL and UNIX) environments, as well as Windows servers and MS-SQL databases. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to systems management and performance tuning. Most of our Linux servers are virtualized, with a smaller subset hosted on-premises, requiring a strong understanding of both virtual and physical server environments. Key responsibilities:
Lead the administration and support of Linux (RHEL and UNIX) systems, ensuring high availability and performance across virtual and on-prem environments.
Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and patching.
Administer and optimize MS-SQL databases, including backups, restores, performance tuning, and security.
Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure to support business operations and growth.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or additional years of experience to supplement degree
6+ years of Linux system administration experience managing, upgrading, and maintaining Linux servers to include experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Unix
2+ years of MS-SQL database administration
Experience managing Windows Server environments
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Master's degree computer science or a related field
Related technical certification(s)
Server management experience of an ERP system like Banner
Experience working in an Agile environment
