Job Description

The Supply Chain IT Commercial Support Team is responsible for delivering Information Technology solutions on time, within budget, and in compliance with key regulatory requirements. The Commercial Sourcing Advisor's primary responsibility in this position is to support the development and management of commercial initiatives across multiple key IT categories related to supporting the IT organization for key immediate and future business requirements.



The successful candidate should be a self-starter possessing extensive experience with commercial IT procurement activities including, but not limited to:



Negotiate Commercial Terms and execute Purchase Orders

Develop Bid Packages

Conduct Market Analysis

Analyze proposals using a Total Cost of Ownership methodology

Perform Invoice Reconciliation

Establish and maintain strategic business relationships with multiple key suppliers

Perform Spend Analysis and Validate Cost Savings

Review and understand/interpret contract language





This position will work primarily in support of our IT Organization managing various initiatives that will involve software, hardware, and professional services engagements as part of their primary function. The individual supporting our IT Organization should be comfortable handling multiple on-going diverse and complex negotiations that involve IT. The individual should possess the ability to manage multiple vendor negotiations with varying levels of complexity and urgency. The ability to navigate through ambiguous situations leveraging critical thinking to fully understand and develop a strategy for a contract and/or commercial negotiations will be key to success.



Primary Responsibilities:



Develops and maintains relationships with key suppliers to ensure service, commercial terms, and optimal leverage. Develop and track KPIs for measuring performance for key suppliers and facilitate issues resolution related to supplier performance.

Collaborates with the assigned business units to assess all requirements and develop sourcing and contracting strategies for IT goods and service including the development, management, risk mitigation, and execution of commercial initiatives and strategies.

Utilizes practices such as RFQs, bid analysis, negotiations and partnering to ensure maximum value for expenditures. Seeks new practices and methods to increase value of services.

Fosters communication internally, externally, and between different operational functions. First line point of contact for operating needs, concerns, and Supply Chain IT support.

Evaluates competitive bids and quotations against purchase order commitments. Maintains documentation as appropriate for all purchases.

Expedites purchase requisitions to ensure on time delivery and acceptable performance by suppliers, to meet the needs of business partners from order entry through invoice payment, including invoice reconciliation activities with stakeholders/suppliers to ensure payment.

Utilizes Supply Chain tools, templates, systems, and documents related to the management of commercial terms and conditions.

Collaborates with Supply Chain peers to drive continuous improvement, alignment, and best-in-class process optimization.

Interprets commercial, financial, & business data in order to minimize risk in Supply Chain processes while supporting operating components' service requirements.

Consults with other Supply Chain and legal professionals to ensure that contractual terms and conditions are acceptable and serve to minimize risk as needed during the purchasing process.

Performs moderately complex price analysis and confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

Ability to work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree - Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fields

4+ years of experience in supply chain/procurement

IT Procurement experience negotiating with IT vendors + a solid understanding of IT technologies

Experience in Vendor Management including vendor relationship, contracts, negotiations, issue/risks, spend and performance management, etc

Must be comfortable managing multiple projects/tasks + working with business partners and stakeholders

Strong written and verbal communication skills

SAP, Ariba, Microsoft Office

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Midstream/Refining knowledge and experience -- will be supporting these lines of business

Oil/Gas/Energy industry

Masters degree
