Insight Global is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our client in the San Antonio area. This role involves ensuring the safety and compliance of various facilities through thorough fire protection analysis, inspections, and technical reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire protection codes and standards, excellent project management skills, and the ability to provide expert guidance and recommendations. Responsibilities:
Understand Fire Protection Requirements: Establish a thorough understanding of fire protection requirements related to the JBSA Fire Department. Coordinate all activities through the appropriate Government representative.
Project Coordination and Meetings: Attend all project-related meetings to ensure success at every level. Perform BCOES and plan-in-hand reviews, applying lessons learned from experience.
Fire Protection Analysis and Surveys: Schedule and conduct fire protection analysis and surveys of facilities at various stages (pre-construction, during construction, and post-construction) to identify potential fire risks.
Inspections and Compliance: Perform inspections in compliance with approved documentation on all assigned projects. Evaluate work practices, procedures, and physical conditions to ensure compliance with fire protection codes, standards, and established fire safety policies.
Technical Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare detailed technical reports on fire protection analysis and surveys, including corrective actions for deficient conditions. Provide guidance and recommend changes to work practices, procedures, facility design, construction features, and fire protection systems to adhere to fire protection codes and standards.
Consultation and Final Acceptance Tests: Serve as a fire-safety and life-safety consultant to project managers and other management officials. Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of newly installed fire suppression and detection systems..
