Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Remediator to ensure digital documents and web content meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. This role is essential in making content inclusive and usable for individuals with disabilities, including those who are blind, deaf, or have cognitive or motor impairments.
As a Data Remediation Specialist, the individual is responsible for tagging and remediating PDF documents to ensure they meet accessibility and compliance standards under WCAG 2.1 Level AA. They apply and validate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on scanned documents to guarantee that all content is both readable and searchable. Their work includes reviewing and correcting document structures such as headings, lists, tables, and alternative text for images to ensure proper formatting and accessibility. In addition to document remediation, they need to have a strong understanding of HTML so they can effectively read the current tags and know how to structure new tagging.

Required Skills & Experience
• Experience in document remediation and accessibility tagging (PDF and HTML).
• Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and other accessibility standards.
• Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, CommonLook, PAC 3, and OCR software.
• Familiarity with HTML for clear understanding of tagging accessibility and semantic structure.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Accessibility certifications (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
• Experience with automated and manual accessibility testing.
Knowledge of inclusive design principles and usability for diverse audiences.
