Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing data and analytics team at a leading financial services organization, supporting a member value initiative focused on measuring and improving digital and service experiences for both new and existing members. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, transforming raw vendor and operational data into consumable, analytics-ready datasets within a Snowflake environment using DBT. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as engineers will collaborate with experience owners, MSR stakeholders, and technical leads to deliver high-quality, reliable data products. Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest and transform operational and vendor data into Snowflake
• Develop, manage, and tune DBT models using SQL, YAML, and Jinja templating within a DBT environment (Core and/or Fusion)
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries as part of DBT development workflows
• Interact with GitHub and GitLab via Git Bash commands on a Linux terminal to pull branches, develop locally, and push code back to shared repositories
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools within the local development environment to accelerate pipeline and model delivery, ensuring code quality and accuracy before committing to the shared repository
• Collaborate with project leads and experience owners to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, well-optimized data engineering solutions
• Support multiple concurrent projects under the member value organization, including MSR workflow data (Flowable) and complaints data initiatives

Required Skills & Experience
3–4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, with strong ETL/ELT pipeline development and optimization skills
3–4+ years of strong SQL proficiency, including complex query writing, optimization, and data warehouse concepts.
Experience with DBT (dbt Core or dbt Fusion), including SQL, YAML, and Jinja templating.
Proficiency with Git and Git Bash commands.
Solid understanding of relational data modeling concepts:
Experience working with sensitive or regulated data and applying data quality/scrubbing best practices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Python experience is a strong plus
Prior experience mentoring or leading junior/mid-level engineers, or taking ownership of project workstreams
Datadog (SLO/SLA monitoring)
Grafana or Fortuna
Google SRE / Data Reliability Engineering principles
