Job Description

This position will be responsible for driving the successful execution of our client's most critical and complex IT initiatives and programs. Via close partnership with finance team members, executives, and senior leaders, this Senior Project Manager will be responsible for tracking all components of the budget for assigned P&Ls / Portfolios / Business Units, and then providing detailed reports to different audiences to inform budgetary accuracy, spend against budgets, and opportunities and risks. You will be part of a team taking accountability for a significant portion of the IT budget.



The successful candidate will possess broad business acumen in addition to the theoretical and practical application of program management and financial tracking principles. Thoroughness and attention to detail will be paramount, to ensure that various financial and project metrics are used consistently and deviations from budget are identified early. Outstanding partnership management and communication skills with all levels of management through senior leadership are essential, as is the ability to influence across the enterprise.



Responsibilities

* Planning, organizing, directing and tracking all aspects of IT budgets.

* Tracking program performance at various levels including Portfolio, Business Unit, and Master Project and calculating metrics such as total budget, and capital/operating expenses, with views highlighting budget and forecast variances.

* Supporting IT leaders and business partners with reports and management activities associated with labor outsourcing (onshore, nearshore, and offshore).

* Performing budget and team allocation transformation between project and product focused delivery approaches.

* Empowering teams and stakeholders with information to support effective project management and strategic business decisions.

* Developing and best-in-class tools and processes for managing project hours and budgets and rolling these practices out to partnered project managers for implementation on their projects.

* Developing reports and visibility to create transparency between teams, leadership, and business partners.

* Improving predictability by identifying trends through enhanced financial data.

* Enable proactive identification of risks and opportunities using data.

Required Skills & Experience

- Extremely strong capabilities with integrating data from multiple sources and provide views (ie extremely strong with excel manipulation. MS Access experience would be a HUGE plus.)

- Extremely thorough nature when it comes to with data accuracy and evaluating deviations

- Ability to see evaluate budget trends from various sources

- Ability to communicate and report these trends to leadership

- Interest in budget management and associated activities is a must -- we don't want a PM who wants to deliver projects and not do budgeting. They CAN be a PM but need to want to do budget work
