Job Description
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to serve as the Team Lead supporting Project Management Office (PMO) operations and capital projects within its natural gas distribution organization. This role will act as the primary client-facing lead, supporting the client’s current project engineers, while coordinating delivery teams and ensuring project governance, reporting, and administrative processes are executed consistently and efficiently.
This individual will be responsible for balancing hands-on project execution with team leadership, stakeholder communication, and process oversight, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with the client’s standards.
- Serve as the Team Lead supporting PMO and capital project initiatives
- Act as the primary liaison (SPOC) between client stakeholders and delivery teams
- Support projects across the full lifecycle: initiation through closeout
- Manage project schedules, trackers, dashboards, and performance reporting
- Develop, track, and report KPIs including schedule, budget, and resource utilization
- Prepare weekly reports, dashboards, and Quarterly Business Reviews
- Identify risks, trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with the client’s processes and PMO standards
- Provide day-to-day guidance to support project staff, resolve escalations, bridge the gap between the client stakeholders and our internal team.
- Build out our service offering by learning and understating client need and pain points

Required Skills & Experience
- 7–10+ years of project management, construction, design, maintenance or other operations experience in gas utility environments
- Experience working within or supporting a PMO
- Prior people management experience
- Strong understanding of project controls, reporting, and financial tracking
- Proficiency with SAP, SharePoint, and MS Excel
- Experience developing dashboards, Gantt Charts and tracking KPIs
- Building project plans, project charters, org charts, flow charts, etc.
- Proven ability to lead teams while remaining hands-on
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Admin, Construction Management or related field required
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting capital projects in regulated utility environments
- Utility scheduling/planning experience preferred
- Previous experience working in PowerPlan
- Proficiency with spreadsheet tools. Ability to retrieve and manipulate data from reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to use software applications which include Microsoft products, work management, mapping, and scheduling tools.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Analytical, proactive, and solutions-oriented
- Ability to work independently and in team-based environments
- Desire to grow within the utilities industry
- PMP/PMI Certifications
