A Fortune 50 client is looking for an Azure Database Administrator to come join their Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform team to support several different projects across different business units within this company. This company is expanding their Azure PaaS services and several business units are utilizing this team to provision new databases in their environment such as Synapse, MySQL, CosmosDB, and SQL Server on Azure. You will be hands on performing provisioning of new databases, create private endpoints, creating NSG rules, and using Terraform automation for provisioning. SQL Server and Synapse will be 95% of the work. This is not a maintenance role. The ideal candidate will be local to Hyderabad, India, however remote candidates in India will be considered. The preferred shift is an 8 hour shift between 1:00 PM IST to 11:00 PM IST.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Use Terraform/Ansible automation templates or manual approach to deploy Azure PaaS services with specialization in PaaS resource provisioning of the following Azure services.
a. Azure Databases
b. Azure Synapse, Azure MySQL Flexi Server, Azure PostgreSQL Flexi Server, Key Vault, Log Analytics
2. Platform administration activities of the following Azure cloud solutions (platform sizing & capacity management, platform provisioning, configuration & sustain, installation & configuration, monitoring, performance management, platform automation, platform upgrades)
3. Design & test platform - RBAC, Endpoints, NSG/ASG, Azure VNET, UDR, Proxy, Firewall, Storage, Compute, Scheduling.
4. Perform database migrations across environments, including on-premises to Azure and Azure-to-Azure scenarios using tools such as Azure Database Migration Service and PowerShell scripting.
5. Design, deploy, and maintain Azure-based databases such as Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL and azure components.
6. Develop and execute PowerShell and T-SQL scripts to automate routine database administration tasks.
7. Manage RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) to ensure secure access to databases.
8. Handle backup and restoration processes, ensuring compliance with internal security and disaster recovery policies.
9. Optimize database performance and proactively identify and implement tuning opportunities.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve critical database problems.
11. Guide and support users and customers, ensuring a high level of service and understanding of the database environment.
12. Handle production database environments, including deployment, updates, monitoring, and incident response.
13. Implement and manage encryption, auditing, and other data protection mechanisms.
14. Collaborate with development and various teams on schema design, query optimization, and version control for database components.

-3+ years hands-on experience deploying and maintain Azure PaaS Databases services (Synapse, Azure SQL DB, Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, PostgreSQL on Azure, and Azure Database)
-Database administration and performance optimization and tuning, troubleshooting connectivity issues (user creation, role assignments, securing database, index optimization)
-1+ year hands-on experience with Azure network (creation of private and service endpoints, NSG rules, routing, firewalls, internal and external web applications, Azure VNets, Subnets, Azure network settings, CIDR address blocks, DNS settings, security policies, etc.)
-Basic understanding of PowerShell, T-SQL, and automation frameworks (Terraform and Ansible)
- Experience with RBAC, encryption, and data compliance policies.
-Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar platforms for managing incidents and changes.
