An employer is looking for an Associate Manager of Food R&D in the Plano, TX area. You will primarily be focused on supporting strategic objectives and food innovation/ commercialization for the clients Latin America and Caribbean markets. You will support projects and annual operating plans for these markets through innovative techniques and ensure all core ingredients are meetings brand standards. You will partner with other leaders to spearhead the development and implementation of food vision, innovation pillars and new products, while ensuring local suppliers can produce key global ingredients with high quality/ performance in these markets. Job functions include:
- Demonstrate practical approach/ knowledge of product development, operational systems, supplier food processing
- Lead projects around product development processes required to implement food vision/ business strategy for new and existing products
- Develop project plans/ timelines from bench top to commercialization to launch
- Leverage data of consumer trends for product insights to achieve compliance and business goals
- Direct/ manage suppliers across multiple markets to develop/ optimize ingredients in support of the development goals
- Partner with marketing and operations to gain consumer feedback and make necessary product modifications
- Travel to markets to meet with operations, safety teams, suppliers

5+ years experience in food product development/ commercialization/ R&D
Bilingual- English/ Spanish
Strong knowledge/ experience in food/ beverage product development from bench-top to full-scale commercialization
Knowledge of sensory methods, experimental design, and consumer research methodologies
Strong background in food commercialization and innovation
Knowledge around product and menu development/ impacts to the business
Strong project management skills/ experience
