Job Description
A natural gas treating and processing facility in Odessa is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join their team, reporting to the Quality Control Manager. This role is ensuring that when the day crew starts welding, they are good to continue welding on the vessels.
This individual will be responsible for the following:
- Required to perform in-process/internal inspections in and on vessels and skids.
- Required to perform inspections of vessels ranging from 24” O.D. to 108” O.D.
- Adhere to the established quality plan to ensure compliance with Kinder Morgan Treating’s manufacturing standards.
- Adhere to the existing QA/QC goals, policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure adherence to national and international standards, codes, and legislation.
- Maintain documentation procedures and appropriate quality controls.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage project documentation, including compliance records, audit reports, inspection results, and testing data.
- Coordinate quality assurance efforts with internal teams.
- Collect and analyze performance data against defined quality parameters.
- Ensure fabrication and assembly personnel understand and follow testing procedures.
- Identify, report, and investigate nonconformities.
- Oversee the quality inspection and product release program for fabrication teams.
Evaluate product specifications from suppliers and ensure alignment with customer requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
Certified Welding Inspector (AWS QC1)
Working knowledge of NBIC Repair and Alterations Code and/or ASME Section VIII.
5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance within fabrication and manufacturing environments, particularly those adhering to ASME codes (B31.3, Section VIII, Div. 1).
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or API Q1, ASME, NBIC, and API standards.
Experience in oil and gas, or pipe and vessel fabrication shops.
Expertise in pressure vessels, ASME Section VIII, B31.3, and weld mapping.
Hands-on experience in fabrication shops, skid units, and AWS/CWI inspection.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and data management tools.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Certified Quality Auditor designation
Bachelor's degree
