Job Description

Client is looking for a Sr. AWS Engineer in the San Antonio area. Provides subject matter proficiency for AWS. Responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements. Typical duties include analysis, planning, developing requirements documents, building functional models, developing procedures, developing functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties. Must have experience deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements. Familiarity with using both the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI). Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework as well as AWS networking and security services.

Required Skills & Experience

- Active TS clearance with ability to obtain SCI
- Bachelors degree in related field required. A masters degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
- Certifications (2 of the following):
o AWS Cloud Practitioner
o AWS SysOps Administrator
o Operating a Production Kubernetes Cluster
o Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA)
o Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
o Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
o RHEL Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294)
- 10 years IT systems administrative experience with both Microsoft and Linux platforms
- Proficient understanding of maintenance (patching, STIG, and upgrade processes) on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience and/or training in system administration related to ability to manage and operate workloads on AWS systems.
- Experience in system administration and supporting development and test teams in AWS and along with an applied understanding of Kubernetes and traditional RHEL servers.
- Kubernetes CKA certification and/or training and two years applied experience on containerized platforms.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Proficiency with Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, Lambda etc. (not all inclusive) orchestrated/deployed in a cloud environment.
- Past experience with system administration support and management related to Amazon EKS.
