Job Description
IG is seeking a Data Engineer focused on unstructured and Data Ingestion to support a rapid proof-of-concept initiative running through the end of the year. This project aims to fully automate the manufacturing process—from engineering models to machine-built parts, quality checks, and delivery—enabling rapid prototyping powered by AI. The ideal candidate will specialize in ingesting unstructured and semi-structured data such as 3D models, quality reports, and live machine telemetry. Experience with embedded hardware, IoT data modeling, and OCR is essential. You’ll be responsible for building robust ingestion pipelines and maintaining metadata catalogs to support machine learning workflows. This person will work closely with other agile teams and collaborating closely with ML developers to identify, access, and prepare the right data for model training and inference. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Glue is preferred.

Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of delivering scalable data solutions.
• Expertise in ingesting unstructured and semi-structured data
• Hands-on experience with IoT data ingestion, particularly from embedded hardware and industrial systems.
• Strong understanding of data modeling for complex formats
• Proficiency in OCR technologies and integrating OCR outputs into data pipelines.
• Ability to build and maintain robust ingestion pipelines that support real-time and batch processing.
• Experience with metadata cataloging for unstructured data assets.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, especially Python and Glue
• Comfort working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
