Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a full-time Swivel Engineer IV for a client in the oil and gas industry in Houston, Texas. The Swivel Engineer IV applies expert-level product knowledge and extensive experience to complex and undefined engineering challenges, regularly serving as a technical leader or key contributor on major projects. This role encompasses the full project lifecycle for swivel systems, including client specification review, design base development, conceptual layouts, sealing system selection, load evaluations, component sizing, stress and fatigue analysis, bolting and material specifications, and quality requirements. The engineer oversees drawing reviews, bill of materials, design documentation, and testing procedures, and may supervise assembly and testing activities. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting, interfacing with clients and classification societies, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and supporting proposal efforts. The Engineer IV utilizes CAD/CAM tools for design and analysis, prepares technical reports and documentation, mentors junior staff, and may lead multidisciplinary teams. Required Skills & Experience

- BS Degree in Engineering
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in specialized area or product line(s)
○ Or MS degree plus 5-7 years of experience
○ Or PhD with 1-2 years of experience
- Experience with successful realization of complete design cycles
- Experience in checking detailed documentation while executing projects
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, theorems and mathematics in the improvement and development of new technologies
- ability to develop unique solutions for complex technical problems that include the design of new systems or development of solutions having few or no precedents
- solid understanding of internal economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assigned areas
- Advanced knowledge using Solidworks for 3D part and assembly modeling, layout and design and working with Designers to create 2D drawings from Solidworks models.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with FEA and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
- Experience as a Swivel Engineer or working on projects related to Mooring systems
Offshore project experience
