Job Description
A major oil and gas employer in Houston, TX is looking for a Subsurface Machine Learning Scientist that will be responsible for research and development on the deep learning technologies for the subsurface domain, including subsurface seismic processing and interpretation The ML Scientist will work within the company's Computational Science and Digital Innovation group where they are looking to improve the overall process and timing to deliver seismic images using AI, Machine Learning, and other Deep Learning techniques. This persons primary responsibility will be to design and develop machine learning and deep learning systems, run machine learning tests and experiments, and implement appropriate Machine Learning algorithms. The expectation is that this Engineer should be able to implement these models from scratch, and efficiently train these models on HPC hardware.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer with hands on deep learning system design (model validation, testing, QC)
Experience developing on key frameworks such as Tensorflow and PyTorch
Experience in the subsurface domain working with seismic modeling, imaging, migrations, etc.
Extensive experience with convolutional and deep neural networks (CNN and DNN)
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
Publications in Data Science related to Physics, Geophysics, etc.
Experience with research based projects
