Job Description

A top midstream Oil & Gas company in downtown Houston is seeking a Sr. Integrity Process & Technology Engineer to join their Pipeline Integrity Risk Engineering team. This individual needs to be a curious, creative problem-solver. In this role, the individual will tackle complex engineering challenges where no textbook solutions exist, developing approaches that will shape industry standards. This is not a typical engineering position. This individual will be a technical innovator and industry leader, investigating pipeline integrity threats, pioneering new assessment technologies, and representing the company at industry forums like PRCI and IPC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Pioneer Solutions: Develop innovative approaches to complex pipeline integrity threats where established solutions don't exist
· Drive Technology Advancement: Evaluate cutting-edge technologies and create new methodologies that enhance our integrity management programs
· Apply Advanced Analytics: Leverage SQL, FME, Python, and machine learning to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets
· Lead Critical Projects: Manage technical projects addressing pipeline integrity threats such as stress corrosion cracking, wrinkle bends, and ground movement
· Shape Industry Standards: Represent the company at industry forums, collaborating with peers to advance pipeline safety across the sector
Perform Expert Assessments: Conduct sophisticated Fitness-For-Service assessments using fracture mechanics and materials science principles

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor in Engineering

Expertise in Fracture Mechanics assessments, including Failure Assessment Diagrams, Fracture Toughness testing, and a thorough understanding of API 579 and CorLAS assessments

Expertise in Fitness for Service (FFS)

Possess at least one 1 of the following skills: Deploying mechanistic models for pipeline integrity threat assessments (preferably using Python) / Proficient in performing Finite Element Analysis for threats such as dents, cracks, or thermal stress assessments / Experience with Quantitative Risk Assessment models, Structural Reliability approaches, and Probabilistic Analyses, including but not limited to Monte Carlo simulations, FORM, SORM, etc. / Expertise in statistical analysis (Frequentist, Bayesian, Inferential) and/or Machine Learning, preferably applied to Pipeline Integrity / Data integration using SQL Spatial, GIS, and/or FME, applied to threat identification such as landslides, hydro-technical crossings, seismic faults, subsidence, and linear referencing (measure, station) of pipelines.

10+ years of experience
