Job Description
An automotive client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data and Analytics Architect who will be responsible for leading the strategy, design, and implementation of enterprise-wide data and analytics solutions. This role will focus on building scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms across cloud and on-premise environments, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data virtualization layers. The architect will define data models, design robust data pipelines (ETL/ELT), and lead the integration of systems using technologies such as AWS, Databricks, SAP, Denodo, Apache Spark, and Kafka. They will support advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives by enabling real-time data processing and embedding intelligent models into analytical workflows. Additionally, the role includes driving the adoption of self-service BI tools like Power BI and Tableau, ensuring data governance, quality, security, and compliance across platforms. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data scientists to align data architecture with business goals, mentor technical teams, and evaluate new technologies to continuously enhance the organizations data and analytics capabilities. This full-time opportunity requires 4 days onsite in the Energy Corridor in Houston, Texas within the salary range of $160-190K.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, or a related field
- 10+ years in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, data engineering, and analytics. This includes at least 5 years in a senior role, demonstrating leadership and strategic oversight in these areas.
- 5-7 years as a Cloud Data Architect, with hands-on experience in the end-to-end implementation of cloud data warehouses (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise data warehouses (e.g., SQL, SAP BW).
- Develop high-level solution design and architecture, including class, sequence, and deployment diagrams. Maintain technical documentation in a centralized code repository and database modeling tools
- Led technical data strategy, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale cloud enterprise data warehouse platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for analytics, data science, and AI.
- Specialized in enterprise data modeling (business, logical, conceptual, physical models), database design, metadata management, master data management, data cataloging, and relational/NoSQL data stores (star and snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling).
- Experience building and managing data pipelines with Databricks, PySpark, and Apache Spark.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT workflows.
- Proficiency in JDBC, XML, and Web Services APIs for integrating diverse data sources.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in Data Migration from RDBMS to Cloud
- Programming & SQL: Python, SQL, Scala, R, PL/SQL; Proficiency in RDBMS, complex SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, performance tuning and query optimization, including analysis of SQL execution plan
- Expertise in deploying databricks features such as Delta Lake, Delta Table, DLT, Unity Catalog, Delta Sharing; And advanced features such as esource monitors, RBAC controls, cluster sizing, query performance tuning, time trave
- Knowledge of SAP modules and applications, including CDS views, BW queries, and HANA databases, with the ability to integrate these into broader data architectures.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into data pipelines
-Experience in agile project management best practices and tooling.
-Skills in translating high-level business and user requirements into functional and quality, specifications with the appropriate level of detail.
