Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior SEC Analyst to oversee a team of 3 for a large utility company here in Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for preparing financial statements and related footnotes for three public registrants in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, as well as reviewing supporting schedules from business units. The role involves cross-functional collaboration to gather and validate financial data, managing timelines to meet reporting deadlines, and supporting the implementation of new accounting standards and SEC disclosure requirements. Additional responsibilities include reviewing XBRL data in Wdesk, partnering with the Consolidations team to improve reporting processes, preparing disclosure checklists, and coordinating with external auditors. The company offers a hybrid work schedule (two days remote), and excellent benefits.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting with relevant experience
- Experience writing complex disclosures
- Experience pulling, organizing, and consolidating data from a system (EX: SAP, BPC, Inertia etc)
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Acquired the CPA or CPA eligible with plan to acquire it in 12 months
- Strong understanding of SEC reporting
- Knowledge/experience with FERC

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Utility industry experience
- Experience working in Workiva
- Big 4 or public accounting experience
