Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Cloud Technical Architect to join one of our clients in the large food distribution industry. This individual will play a critical role in the organization's enterprise Data Platform initiative, focused on building a scalable data lake within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and supporting the migration of data and applications from AWS to GCP.
This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with data architects, engineers, application teams, and business stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure that supports the company's long-term cloud transformation strategy. While exposure to data analytics and data science environments is beneficial, this position is primarily focused on GCP infrastructure architecture, cloud engineering, and data platform enablement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of GCP infrastructure supporting enterprise-scale data platform initiatives.
• Architect and manage highly available, secure, and scalable cloud solutions within Google Cloud Platform.
• Support the organization's migration of data workloads and infrastructure from AWS to GCP.
• Partner with application teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and provide ongoing operational support.
• Develop cloud migration strategies, assess current environments, identify infrastructure gaps, and recommend remediation plans.
• Design, implement, and optimize core GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Spanner, Dataflow, Dataproc, networking, private service access, and IAM solutions to support scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments.
• Establish and enforce cloud governance, security, access controls, resource management, and cost optimization best practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud infrastructure issues while maintaining high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with data architects, developers, network engineers, security teams, and cloud providers to ensure seamless solution delivery.
• Drive infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives using tools such as Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Participate in architecture reviews, engineering discussions, and continuous improvement efforts across the cloud environment.
• Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor for internal stakeholders across the organization.
