Job Description

A client in the greater Houston area is adding a Purchasing Assistant to their Supply Chain organization, as a long-term on-going contract to help with an influx of strategic projects. The Purchasing Assistant creates and maintains the Materials Plan for all projects with input from the Project Teams. Works with the Buyers and Project Managers to ensure that all materials plans are current and provided to the Site Project Managers overseas. Supports Project Buyers, Traffic and Logistics and Purchasing and Document Control as needed. Updates the Purchase Requisition (PR) and maintains the PR log, Purchase Order status, assists Project Buyers with expediting and other purchasing-related activities. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Required Skills & Experience

-Associates degree or High School equivalent
- Three to five years of experience in procurement / material or related environment
- Some knowledge of procurement / materials terminology
- Proficiency in Windows, spreadsheets, word processing and general database experience
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Bachelors Degree
-Off-shore oil & gas experience
-Supply chain experience
