Job Description

A utility client in the South Houston area has a need for a Project Coordinator/Scheduler (PROJECT READINESS) to join their Transmission Contracting Services Team. This individual would report into the Manager of Transmission Contracting Services who reports into Director of Transmission Operations. You would be helping the entire team with long range project readiness for their schedule for contractors for their transmission operations out in the field.. This team deals with all the transmission structured outlines for all transmission operations work that comes in. They will be managing multiple projects and will be utilizing the portfolio schedule so that they can schedule their contractors for the year, depending on how many theyll need per project. There is a lot of planning that goes into this role, so they will be utilizing their planning software heavily. Theyll also be dealing with budgeting and counting of resources, hours, etc. There is a lot to keep track of, and need someone who is organized and highly motivated and comfortable in a lead like position. There will be lots of linear pipeline work in this role, so attention to detail is crucial.

Required Skills & Experience

bBachelors or masters degree in business, Business Management, Project Management, Engineering Management, Construction Management, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management
Applicable work experience in project scheduling, construction management, or construction operations in a corporate or electric utility environment (5-10 years)
Must have exposure to construction-based projects (Linear construction pipeline) (Chemical plant wouldnt be transferable)
Utility industry exposure
Project management exposure
Experience with long range project readiness (checks, permitting, budgeting, cost & scheduling, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Project their scheduling software used for specific experience in developing and maintaining complex project schedules across multiple work streams.
Proficient in SAP (e.g., SAP PM, PP, MM, MRP or APO) or other enterprise work management software.
Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio) with specific experience in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets.
Excel specifics (format building, spreadsheets, pivot tables, formulas, budgeting, etc.)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Microsoft Dynamics HUGE plus, they are shifting to this system and the entire team is learning it
