Job Description

The role of the Project Manager is to sit at the client site and oversee projects for K-12 facilities from conceptual planning through construction. They will take the needs fed to them by the supervisor, define the projects, estimate the cost, develop the scope, and oversee the design process. The ideal candidate will be skilled in infrastructure and come from the education sector, having working on at least three K-12 or higher education projects. They will serve as the primary liaison among stakeholders including the engineer-of-record, construction contractors, and project owners. The Project Manager will ensure compliance with all codes throughout the lifecycle of the project, monitor performance, assess risks, and provide overall leadership and direction to the team. The salary is a range of $120-160k.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
- 10+ years of experience in project management, 3+ years of which working on projects for schools or higher education
- Background in seeing a project from cradle-to-grave, providing oversight during planning, designing, scoping, and through the construction of the capital improvement plan (CIP) projects
- Ability to create and package projects, developing the firm's scope, coordinating with the engineering firms during the design phases, and ultimately reviewing their designs and specifications
- Background in budgeting and cost control, having worked on single projects greater than $2M
- Experience with project scheduling tools and techniques
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of experience in program management
- Prior P&L (profit and loss) responsibility
- Project management information systems (PMIS) practitioner
