Responsibilities: The Project Manager is responsible for the success of all aspects of the project. They use their leadership strengths and knowledge of project management best practices to guide the work product of all stakeholders, ensuring safety and quality while meeting schedule and budget objectives. Specifically, the Project Manager will: champion safety by ensuring compliance with Company policies and by modelling safe work practices. This individual will provide regular project updates to stakeholders representing management, engineering, operations, environmental permitting, land/ROW, survey, GIS, drafting, pipeline control, construction management, contracts, project controls, Pipeline Safety, mechanical/asset integrity among others. The Project Manager will define and refine the project scope with the assistance of the Project Engineer and often a third-party engineering firm. This person will conduct stage-gate meetings to gather management approvals in accordance with the defined project life cycle. This person will organize and forecast project expenditures with the assistance of a Project Controls Analyst, and populate and update project schedules with the assistance of a Project Scheduler. The ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing permit applications and ensuring environmental compliance with the assistance of an Environmental Representative. It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate preparation of construction contracts with the assistance of the project team and a Contracts Manager. Travel: The Project Manager is based in the Houston Galleria-area office and may have active projects in four to five field locations. Site visits are required at certain project milestones including scoping and design (1-2 site visits), construction contractor bidding, construction kickoff, and during the course of construction, though other site visits may be required. Trips may be combined to include more than one project but 1-2 trips per month is typical. Travel rarely extends through the weekend.
