Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Operations Engineer to support a leading drilling organization. This hands-on engineering role will focus on rig modifications, equipment upgrades, capital projects, and day-to-day operational support. The successful candidate will work closely with operations teams, equipment managers, and engineers to solve equipment challenges, support field operations, and drive engineering improvements across surface drilling assets.
This is not a purely design-focused position. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with practical field experience and is comfortable moving between the office, shop, and yard environments. They will be responsible for balancing multiple priorities, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering practical solutions to complex operational challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are critical for success.
Candidates with experience working directly on drilling rigs or heavy industrial equipment before transitioning into engineering will be highly regarded, as they bring an understanding of both the technical and operational realities of the field. This is a full time role based out of Houston with the expectation to be in office 5 days per week.
