Insight Global is looking for an Operations Engineer to join a midstream oil and gas company on a 6-month contract in Houston, TX, and will be 4 days/week onsite. Reporting to the Manager of Operations Engineering, this role will play a critical role in delivering engineering solutions to ensure safe, reliable operations and regulatory compliance for oil and gas assets in Texas.
Role & Responsibilities:
-Lead and manage small-scale MOC and maintenance projects, including scoping, prioritization, cost estimation, and risk mitigation through HAZOPs, PSSRs, and PHAs.
-Provide technical support and troubleshooting for operations and maintenance teams, including Turnaround and Shutdown activities.
-Ensure engineering compliance and excellence by recommending solutions aligned with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
-Drive performance improvements and integration by identifying opportunities to enhance asset reliability, safety, efficiency, and bridging practices between Canadian and U.S. operations.
-Mentor and support engineering teams while fostering strong stakeholder relationships and promoting a proactive -Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) culture.

-10+ years of experience supporting the engineering operations of major crude oil terminals, pipelines, rail, and truck load/unload facilities.
-Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
-Deep knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC) & Asset Integrity Management (AIM).
-PE designation.
-In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, technical regulations, and standards (ASME, API, NACE, OSHA, etc)
-Familiarity with HAZOP tools
