Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Linux Engineer to support and maintain enterprise Linux environments for one of our largest oil and gas clients in Downtown Houston, TX. This individual will be responsible for building, configuring, and supporting Linux systems, contributing to configuration management, and collaborating with CI/CD and deployment teams. The role focuses on core Linux fundamentals while supporting modern infrastructure and deployment tooling in a fast‑paced enterprise environment. This role is 5 days a week, onsite, in Downtown Houston, and will be a long-term contract. The pay rate for this position will be between $55-65/hr.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of hands-on Linux experience
Strong configuration management experience (Salt, Ansible, Terraform)
Ability to build and manage OS images
Working knowledge of RPM package creation and management
Core Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
Understanding of deployment tools and how systems are started and managed
Exposure to CI/CD environments (SOX / Release Management awareness)
Basic understanding of containers and Kubernetes
Experience working with open-source tools and technologies
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Kubernetes administration or support experience
CI/CD pipeline implementation or optimization experience
Infrastructure-as-Code best practices beyond basic usage
Scripting experience (Bash, Python)
Experience standardizing Linux environments at scale
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environments
