Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Lead SEC Analyst to oversee a team of 3 for a large utility company here in Houston, Texas. The role is primarily responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and related disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The position supports three public registrants and involves cross-functional collaboration to gather information for internal and external reporting requirements. Responsibilities include reviewing team-prepared workpapers, maintaining strong technical accounting knowledge, assisting with the implementation of new accounting standards, and partnering with the Consolidations team to streamline reporting processes. The role also includes preparing disclosure checklists, reviewing XBRL data in Wdesk, and interfacing with external auditors. Additional duties involve supporting special projects as needed. The company offers a hybrid work schedule (two days remote), and excellent benefits.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of experience in Accounting with relevant experience
- Experience writing complex disclosures
- Experience reviewing work of others for verification
- Experience pulling, organizing, and consolidating data from a system (EX: SAP, BPC, Inertia etc)
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Acquired the CPA or CPA eligible with plan to acquire it in 12 months
- Experience with training and developing
- Public accounting or SEC reporting experience
- Knowledge/experience with FERC
- Strong knowledge in GAAP and SEC reporting requirements

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Utility industry experience
- Experience working in Workiva
- Experience with Wdesk, BPC, and EPM
