Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join a leading Energy company located in Houston, TX. The person in this role will join a team of four, responsible for supporting US national code compliance across various cross-functional Data Center specific product development engineering teams. This role involves ensuring adherence to standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and UL. The Instrumentation & Control Engineer will prepare and complete various Controls and Instrument engineering deliverable drawings, documents, and calculations such as instrument list/index, instrument data sheets, control system architecture drawings, alarm schedule, select and specify all safety and control instruments, etc. They will also troubleshoot any operation issues during start-up and commissioning of data center as it relates to control systems and instrumentation, perform ladder logic programming (if needed), control valve sizing, relief valve sizing, flow element sizing. Train team members to perform these sizing, recommend control system, control valve, level instruments and flow instruments best suited for application. They will select sensors for cooling pumps, power controls for pumps and AB drives, and pressure meters.

Required Skills & Experience

8-12 years of experience as an electrical engineer working on US based projects

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering

AutoCAD proficiency

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Data Center experience

PE

Medium voltage
