Job Description

Day-to-day:

Drive strategic business development by identifying new projects, cultivating relationships with developers, contractors, and government agencies, and expanding service lines across Environmental, Geotechnical, Natural Resources, and Contaminated Media. Oversee technical project delivery at a high level—ensuring scope, schedule, and quality standards—while guiding a division of engineers and aligning resources for success. Act as the firm’s marketplace presence by networking with industry peers, engaging in ACEC activities, and leading growth in key sectors such as DOT/Transportation and Energy & Gas.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have:
- 10-20+ years in Geotechnical consulting or Environmental services, strategic direction with Senior Client facing expertise and P&L or portfolio ownership
- Demonstrated strategist with a repeat-client track record
- Proven leadership of a multi-disciplinary engineering division
- Strong Technical Project Management background delivering complex programs that entail scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk analysis, etc.
- Market credibility in Environmental, Geotechnical, Natural Resources, or Contaminated Media
- Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers in construction, infrastructure, energy, and government sectors.
- Active industry engagement in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and strong networking abilities
- Translate complex geotechnical challenges (e.g., foundation design, slope stability, ground improvement) into compelling solutions.
- Work with engineering teams to create winning proposals, quotes, and contracts.
Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
- PE, PMP
- Federal/Port authority experience
- Complex permitting and stakeholder coordination of federal projects
- Experience scaling practices across multiple offices/regions
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to create value propositions.
Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar
