Job Description

A healthcare employer in Houston, TX is seeking an General Surgery Pro Fee Coder to join their growing team. This position is remote but candidates must live in the following states: TX, OK, LA, TN, FL, South Carolina, GA and NE. Responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic results as appropriate to extract data and apply appropriate ICD-10-CM/CPT4 codes and modifiers for billing, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. Accurately code conditions and procedures as documented in the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting of Physician (Profee) Service.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience coding on the outpatient general surgery profee side

Experience working with EPIC

CPC or COC Coding Certification from AAPC

Responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic results as appropriate to extract data and apply appropriate ICD-10-CM/CPT4 codes and modifiers for billing, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance

Knowledge of coding compliance policies, official coding guidelines, regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures affecting the coding process

High School Diploma or GED

Must reside in one of the following states: TX, OK, LA, TN, FL, SC, GA and NE
