Job Description

Insight Global is lookign for a FME Developer for a large oil and gas client in Houston, Texas to sit onsite 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). They are responsible for creating and maintaining FME workflows, supporting FME workbenches and applications, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of geospatial data. They may also work with users to resolve issues with ArcGIS applications and data.

Here are some of the day-to-day tasks that a Geospatial FME Developer might perform:

Create and maintain customized FME workflows based on project or business requirements.
Support FME workbenches and FME and FME Server application.
Design and manage spatial datasets for efficient use by supported users.
Work with business analysts and business areas to support their spatial data needs.
Ensure the quality, consistency, and accuracy of data in a timely, effective, and reliable manner
Configure and manage data for efficient use by supported users.
Optimize and support current FME workflows to improve efficiency.
Integrate data workflows between GIS Systems and Snowflake
Support ArcGIS tools and platforms.
Communicate issues/downtime regarding applications to Business Analysts and customers
Provide support and consult on Geospatial projects (ArcGIS Enterprise implementation)
Convert legacy applications in ArcGIS Enterprise environment. (Webapp builder to Experience Builder)
Create and maintain application knowledge center articles.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree or 5+ years experience in GIS applications.
5+ years experience with geospatial data/applications.
5+ years experience in FME development and support.
Experience merging internal/external data sources.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience running geospatial projects (ArcGIS customization).
5+ years of ArcGIS support experience.
Understanding of GIS and spatial data (ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, etc.).
Understanding of coordinate systems and transformations.
Solid understanding of data conversion and translations.
Computer skills in FME, ArcGIS, ArcSDE, SQL, Python, Snowflake.
Ability to maintain data integrity and solve spatial data problems.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Strong understanding of SQL (Server and Oracle).
