Including but not limited to design and hardware selection for a variety of electrical circuits ranging from 12VDC to 15kVAC, custom PLC programming and data collection, integration and tuning of VFD’s for motor control ranging from 5 hp to 7,500 hp motors, design and component selection for medium voltage power electronics and power distribution including all safety protocols and circuit protections. Must have a willingness to learn and apply a range of new and different products as dictated by project scope.

System & Product Design
• Design power distribution, control systems, motor control architectures, and complex electrical circuits (12VDC through 15kVAC).
• Select appropriate hardware/components and develop BOMs for procurement.
• Design custom system packages, including cabinets/enclosures that integrate breakers, relays, VFDs, PLCs, and supporting components.
• Ensure designs meet electrical, safety, and protection requirements (voltage rating, current rating, air gap parameters, etc.).
PLC, Automation & Software
• Create PLC programs from scratch across multiple platforms (brand-agnostic).
• Develop HMI/SCADA solutions and work with major communication protocols:
o Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Ignition, Wonderware, Rockwell, Siemens, etc.
• Participate in new product design, modifications, and integration with sales, marketing, and manufacturing.
Motor Control & VFD Integration
• Select, program, integrate, and tune VFDs for motors from 5 HP up to 7,500+ HP.
• Support motor control applications ranging from simple control loops to highly automated systems.
Power Distribution & Medium Voltage
• Design and integrate components for medium voltage power electronics (1kV–15kV+).
• Support power distribution solutions for data centers, microgrids, and power stations.
Testing, Commissioning & Support
• Support factory testing and occasional commissioning/startup (<25% travel).
• Provide technical support internally (sales, field service) and externally (post-sale engineering questions).
• Assist in the transition from design to manufacturing, including training and prototype testing.
• Review, clarify, and validate deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
Documentation & Communication
• Create and review technical documents including schematics, P&IDs, point-to-point diagrams, performance curves, shop assembly instructions, and O&M manuals.
• Communicate solutions clearly to engineering teams, customers, and cross-functional partners.
