Job Description
Insight Global is currently hiring a Data Engineer for one of our largest oil and gas clients in Downtown Houston, TX. This person will be responsible for contributing to the development of on-prem SQL and NoSQL databases and the testing/implementation of python based applications. The ideal candidate for this position will possess expertise in database development in SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, postgres, DB2, and MongoDB, as well as advanced application development experience with implementing business logic utilizing SQL stored procedures and NoSQL utilities. This position is onsite at least 3 days a week, and the pay rate will range from $60 to $72/hr.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, sql and nosql databases like oracle, sql server, postgres, db2, elastic, mongo db and advanced python skills
- Advanced application development experience with implementing business logic utilizing SQL procedures and NOSQL utilities
- Experience with design and development of scalable and performant processes
- Expertise in Python development and fast API microservices
- Development experience with real time user interactive applications and communicate between UI and database
- Experience utilizing LLM models, coding agents and testing agents during their development process
- Ability to simultaneously handle support and development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or relevant major
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
+ ability to work with users directly and understand business requirements and functionality
+ analytic skills and ability to figure things out, use ai tools, and get help when needed
+ must be able to multitask, switch priorities, self manage tasks
Experience with just ETL / backend processes/ data transfer between databases – Not a good fit
Experience only on cloud platforms – Azure, GCP, AWS –
