Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking for a remote Data/Cloud Architect to join their wellbore software team. This person will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the enterprise data warehouse/lake architecture for the product while ensuring high levels of data availability. Additionally, this person will evaluate and advise on all technology components including software, hardware, and networking capabilities for database management systems and applications. This candidate will working in an Agile project methodology and working alongside key stakeholders, product owners, project managers, a business analyst, etc. This person will also identify data sources and design a data management strategy that is aligned with data governance policies and organizational strategy. He/she will collaborate with stakeholders and cross functional teams to understand and apply changes/modifications impacting data warehouse/data lake. Lastly, this person will be conducting research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards, in support of procurement and helping developers interpret data models in order to develop code.

Required Skills & Experience
Strong background in Multi-Cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Data Mesh or experience designing large interrelated systems with complex business logic Will need to become an expert in the business domain
Excellent communication skills. Will be a hands-on position that requires developer mentoring, POC work, speaking with users, gather requirements, etc… No PowerPoint architects
Excellent debugging skills, especially remote debugging, meaningful log creation and analysis.
Excellent programming skills such as Python, R, C/C++, Java, and Perl
Expert relational database skills including expertise knowledge of SQL and PL / SQL
Experience with relational databases, semi and unstructured data, json, and ReST apis
