Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Commercial Strategy Specialist II to join our Supply Chain Staffing and Corporate Services team in Houston, TX. This role will focus on managing the full contract lifecycle for health, safety, environmental, lab, and security services within the Corporate Services portfolio, supporting both onshore and offshore domestic oil and gas assets. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, adaptable, and relationship-driven with a strong results-oriented mindset. Responsibilities include leading sourcing and value creation strategies, executing new contracts and amendments, managing RFPs, and serving as the central liaison between business units, vendors, Legal, and Risk. The Specialist will negotiate contract terms with Legals support, ensure vendor compliance with HES Contractor Safety Program standards, and oversee supplier performance through regular evaluations and business reviews. Additional duties involve maintaining strong vendor communications, guiding internal stakeholders on relevant policies and processes, and operating across SAP and Ariba modules to manage procurement and supplier workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
7 years of experience related to category management and strategic sourcing
Strong knowledge of procure to pay process, contract management best practices, supplier vetting, sourcing strategy implementation, commercial analysis, and negotiations
Strong contract analysis, drafting and negotiation skills
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate thoughts in a clear, concise, and coherent manner
Excellent proficiency in time management skills, highly organized, and detail oriented
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong cross-functional communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently, decisiveness, and sound judgment
Must be comfortable with change in all its facets and be to help assist others through change

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of supply chain principles, theories and processes (preferred)
Systems SAP, Ariba, Spotfire, Power BI
Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
Strong experience managing relationships with highly technical key stakeholders
Comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders
