Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Commercial Manager to join a top energy company in Houston, TX, supporting the engineering, procurement, and construction of multiple hyperscale, mission-critical data centers across the United States. This role leads end-to-end commercial strategy for data center pursuits, with ownership of pricing, risk management, and commercial positioning from opportunity qualification through contract award. The position partners closely with Business Development, Estimating, and Preconstruction teams to develop competitive bid strategies, compelling value propositions, and executable pricing structures aligned with GMP and hyperscale requirements. Key responsibilities include leading executive-level pricing and risk reviews, governing commercial assumptions and documentation, and serving as the primary commercial interface with client leadership during negotiations. The role also drives portfolio-level improvement by evaluating bid outcomes, margin performance, and post-award commercial results to strengthen future pursuits. The person in this role is fully responsible to the Program manager for the end-to-end management of all tenders/bids that come through our GC business. This includes receipt of the bid package, review and prepare the requirements, consolidate inputs and build the costing, translate into pricing strategy and margin requirements, etc. Final commercial decisions will be proposed by the individual and agreed with them and the program manager. as they build the trust, they will be also accountable to make the decision itself.

Required Skills & Experience

18-25 YOE in project management, commercial or contracts management for large scale construction or industrial projects

Proven track record managing complex commercial portfolios and high-value contracts (Portfolio of projects exceeding $300+ million, Projects focused on construction and general contracting)

Strong understanding of project cost structures, risk management, and financial forecasting - previous experience with estimating software is a plus

Experience supporting tender strategy, bid evaluation, and client negotiations at a senior level

5+ years of prior experience in Data Center or mission-critical facility projects

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying or 20+ years of progressive commercial management experience in large-scale projects ($300+ million projects)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Professional certification in Contract or Commercial Management (MRICS, CCP, or equivalent)

Training in negotiation, project finance, or risk management

Experience with large North American construction management / general contracting organizations or comparable commercial operating models
