Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Category manager for a premier oil and gas client located in downtown Houston. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Professional to support our drilling services operations. The Category Manager will define contract strategies, analyze, and optimize spend and foster productive working relationships with both suppliers and stakeholders in the Well Abandonment space (land and offshore) for certain assets. Activities include developing category plans, strategic sourcing, developing contractual agreements, managing supplier performance, process improvements with suppliers to achieve the lowest TCO, and others. Roughly 30% of day spent on data mining and interpretation, 30% on stakeholder engagement- talking to user of service (ex. engineers and superintendents in Cali or Louisiana when they need a contract for a service, new or adding funds to existing contract), & 30% contract management and development.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of supply chain experience working with drilling services within Oil and Gas

Strong understanding of contract strategy as it related to oil and gas, and drilling services

Proficiency with MS office suite

Experience developing category strategies, category/contracts plans, and identifying opportunities to optimize total cost of ownership through the supply chain

Experience with conducting negotiations, measuring, and managing supplier performance, SQM's, ASR's, and balanced scorecard development.

Knowledge of Drilling and Completion services and commodities- Obtaining and interpreting appropriate market and performance intelligence to drive good business decisions

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Well Abandonment (P&A/Workovers) experience preferred

Power BI

Bachelor’s degree

Smart GEP experience

Prior operator experience or sales side with a service provider
