Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking an Associate Consultant to join its Research & Development (R&D) team. In this role, you will work alongside attorneys, accountants, engineers, and scientists to help businesses identify and substantiate valuable tax incentives related to innovation, product development, and process improvements. You will conduct client interviews, analyze technical and financial documentation, research industry-specific topics, and develop reports supporting tax credit claims. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with executives, CPAs, and cross-functional teams—including quality control, client relations, accounting, and tax professionals—to deliver projects accurately, on time, and with exceptional client service. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting environment while consistently identifying opportunities to maximize value for clients. This person will sit onsite 5 days a week in the Galleria area of Houston and will require 20-30% travel within the US. The company is open to this person relocating.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required
• Preferred 1-4 years of experience with project management, sales, public speaking, or client management
• Preferred backgrounds in engineering, business administration, management, finance, economics, and life sciences.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to articulate and relay information in an effective and efficient manner
• High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with company and client information
• Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
• 20-30% travel within the United States
• Candidate must reside or relate to Houston, TX
