Job Description

Insight Global is working to fill a Sediment Remediation Modeler for a client in Houston. The position will be remote, but requiring 20% travel. This person will assist with the development, calibration, verification, and/or oversight of analytical or mathematical models related surface water/groundwater hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and contaminant fate and transport. They will provide input into multi-disciplinary team to establish sampling programs to fulfill modeling data needs. They will assist in the relative comparison of proposed remedial alternatives via modeling. They will be able to convey modeling approaches and results to both technical and non-technical staff both verbally and in writing. Finally, they will be able to critically evaluate alternative approaches proposed by other modelers.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or associated field
Experience modeling contaminant fate and transport through sediment caps in subaqueous systems
Experience with developing field sample programs to support fate and transport process of sediment and both dissolved and particulate bound contaminants
Experience with numerical and/or desktop model development, calibration, and application

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Project experience in both the federal and public sectors
Experience working with CapSim software
