Job Description

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Trader Performance & Risk Data Scientist for a proprietary trading firm based in Dallas, TX.

This is a fulltime role working in a hybrid capacity.

Trader Performance & Risk Data Scientist: analyze trader behavior, identify high-potential performers, and build predictive models that improve both trader outcomes and firm risk management. This is a critical role with high visibility across leadership, risk, operations, and product teams.

You'll be working with large and growing datasetsincluding trading performance, risk events, evaluation funnels, and payout outcomesto uncover patterns, create scoring models, and guide data-driven decision-making at scale.

Key Responsibilities
-Analyze trader behavior and performance data to identify patterns, risk factors, and predictors of success
-Build and deploy scoring models for trader evaluation, risk exposure, and progression likelihood
-Work with the Risk and Operations teams to surface real-time signals and flag anomalies or high-risk behaviors
-Design and maintain dashboards to monitor trader funnels, churn, pass/fail metrics, and payout trends
-Partner with Product and Marketing to test hypotheses, support experiments, and optimize the trader journey
-Propose and implement frameworks for behavioral clustering, drawdown forecasting, and fraud detection
-Translate complex findings into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

-3+ years of experience in data science, behavioral analytics, or quantitative modeling
-Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn), SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Plotly, Streamlit, or Tableau)
-Experience with predictive modeling, classification, clustering, and regression techniques
-Strong understanding of statistical inference and experimentation (A/B testing, causal impact, etc.)
-Comfortable working with large, messy, or evolving data in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to turn analysis into insight and action
-Self-starter with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
-Experience in trading, prop firms, fintech, or brokerage data
-Familiarity with trader psychology, risk metrics, and futures markets
-Experience deploying models into production environments
-Exposure to anomaly detection, fraud scoring, or behavioral segmentation
-Knowledge of dbt, Airflow, or other modern data tooling
