Insight Global is looking for a Chemical Lab Technician to sit onsite in Freeport, Tx for a Oil and Gas client at their Chemical Manufacturing plant. This person will be joining a team of 5 other individuals comprised of Lab Analysts and QA/ QC specialist. This role will be reporting directly to the Plants Technical Superintendent but the interview will be conducted by the Superintendent and the Quality Team Leader. Daily responsibilities for this role include chemical sample testing, reporting and recording Quality Control procedures and test results, maintaining inventory, preparing lab tests, and calibrate equipment on a regular basis. The Freeport plant is a Batch plant so this person will also be calculating and recommending batch adjustments to the Production team. Outside of their internal team this person will be communicating frequently with groups such as Logistics., Production and R&D occasionally. This role requires the operation of instrumentation such as densitometers, NMRs, ICPs, GCs, GPCs, FITRs and auto-titrator. This role works off a DuPont schedule which will require this position to be onsite either 4 days on and 3 days off or 3 days on and 4 days off and each shift will be 12 hours.
2+ years of experience working within a Lab in Quality
Experience working in a lab
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience with lab safety procedures
Associates Degree in Chemistry or a related Degree
Proficient in Microsoft Products
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Bio Chemistry, Biology
Experience working in a quality control setting at a chemical manufacturing facility
Familiarity with the use, maintenance and troubleshooting of a variety of analytical equipment
Experience with testing Polymers or Chemicals
Experience working with SAP
Batch Plant Experience
7+ years of experience working in a lab
