Job Description
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of journal entries
• Perform job cost accounting and analyze project profitability
• Monitor WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany accounts
• Review subcontractor pay applications, retainage, and project billings
• Track labor, equipment, material, and overhead costs
• Support AP, AR, and cash management functions
• Prepare sales and use tax filings
• Assist with annual audits and tax preparation
• Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to leadership and project teams
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 6-10 years of accounting experience
• Experience with:
o Job Costing
o WIP (Work-in-Progress) Schedules
o Percentage-of-Completion Accounting
o Retainage Accounting
o Construction Contract Billing
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Month-end and year-end close experience
• General ledger reconciliation and journal entry experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation, CMiC, or similar)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
• Multi-entity accounting experience
• Experience with construction industry audits and tax preparation
• Familiarity with lien waivers and subcontract agreements
• Experience reviewing pay applications and project billings
• Internal controls and process improvement experience
• CPA or CPA-track (nice to have)
