Job Description

The Director of Consolidations and Reporting will play a critical leadership role in the overall financial management and reporting of the company. This position will oversee complex accounting processes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial statements, and managing key accounting operations, including overall monthly close, financial reporting, and audit requests. The Director of Consolidations and Reporting will lead a team of accountants, providing mentorship, training, and direction while collaborating cross-functionally to drive financial insights that inform business decisions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as a strategic partner to senior management, providing high-level financial insight and guidance for the business.
Oversee the consolidations and reporting teams day-to-day operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial transactions, reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP.
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.
Review, approve, and guide the preparation of complex journal entries and postings to the general ledger.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements and support the preparation of budget reports, forecasts, and management reports, providing meaningful analysis to senior leadership.
Act as the key point of contact for external audits and tax compliance, ensuring all documents and processes are in place for smooth audit preparation.
Analyze financial performance and recommend corrective actions or process improvements based on financial data.
Manage and develop the accounting team, providing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments such as HR, IT, and Operations to ensure financial activities align with business goals.
Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and security of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and accounting standards.
Manage and streamline accounting systems, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Drive the adoption of best practices in accounting to improve efficiency and reduce costs across the department.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional certification
9+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance (GAAP, SOX, etc.).
Advanced proficiency with accounting software (SAP or similar ERP system experience preferred) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
