Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to support a leading telecommunications and fiber infrastructure contractor at a Meta Data Center project in El Paso, TX.
This individual will be responsible for reviewing fiber optic network layouts and construction drawings to ensure installations are executed according to design specifications.
The Project Engineer will serve as a key technical resource between field teams, project leadership, and customers to identify design conflicts, resolve installation issues, and maintain project quality standards throughout construction.
Responsibilities include reviewing fiber routes and cable layouts, validating underground and above-ground infrastructure designs, conducting field walks, identifying discrepancies between construction plans and actual site conditions, and preparing RFIs when design modifications or clarifications are required. This person will work closely with supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and construction teams to ensure all fiber installations meet project requirements, safety standards, and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large-scale infrastructure projects such as data centers, commercial construction, stadium buildouts, utility installations, solar farms, or telecommunications deployments. Candidates with experience in fiber optic networks, cable routing, telecommunications infrastructure, and construction plan review will be highly successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Review fiber optic layouts and construction drawings for accuracy and constructability
Identify potential design conflicts, installation issues, and field constraints
Conduct site walks to verify installations align with project drawings and specifications
Coordinate with field teams to resolve technical issues during construction
Submit RFIs and supporting documentation when design clarification is needed
Ensure work is
completed in accordance with customer, safety, and industry standards
Partner with QA/QC and project leadership teams to maintain project quality
Track and communicate project issues, changes, and resolutions throughout construction
Support successful project delivery from planning through completion

Required Skills & Experience
*Experience working on fiber optic, telecommunications, electrical, or cabling infrastructure projects
*Experience reviewing construction drawings, blueprints, layouts, and technical documentation
*Experience identifying field installation issues and coordinating design corrections
*Data center, commercial construction, solar farm, stadium, utility, or telecommunications project experience
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
*Experience submitting or supporting RFIs (Requests for Information)
*Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
*High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License
